Laminating machines consist of various units such as unwinding units, glue dispensing units, transport and pressurization units, and drive motors. Automatic laminating machines are designed based on the production characteristics of small and medium-sized displays and touch components, making them essential machine in LCD manufacturing. Today, we will discuss the classification of laminating machines and their safety operating procedures.
Laminating machines can be broadly categorized into two types:
1.Hot Laminating: This type of laminating machine typically uses solid adhesive to bond two layers of products together. Since solid adhesive has a high melting point, it must be melted into a liquid state before the upper and lower products can be laminated.
2.Cold Laminating: This type uses liquid adhesive to bond two layers of products together. As liquid adhesive has a low melting point, it does not require heating for lamination. The bonding is achieved through rotary or flatbed lamination.
Safety Operating Procedures for Laminating Machines:
1.Before starting the laminating machine, check whether the anchor bolts are loose. Wipe all components of the machine with a thin-water solution, then prepare the adhesive. Do not store any unrelated items on the workbench.
2.Turn on the power switch and check whether the main unit’s start and stop functions, glue dispensing start and stop, unwinding start and stop, curing oven heating, exhaust power, electrical switches, and instrument panel pointers are functioning normally. Observe whether the machine is operating normally and whether there are any abnormal noises or odors.
3.After the machine is running, closely monitor the roller speed and temperature control adjustments, as well as the temperature of the curing oven. Strictly control the machine’s speed, environment, and temperature.
4.After starting the machine, allow it to run idle for 3–5 minutes and test a few films to ensure proper operation before mass production. Do not proceed with formal production without testing.
5.Proactively perform the "first three inspections" and regularly check product quality to ensure the quality of subsequent production.
6.During operation, keep hands at least 30 cm away from the rollers and avoid entering hazardous areas. Do not talk while operating the machine, and ensure full concentration during operation. Operators must strictly adhere to clothing and hair guidelines.
7.If abnormalities are detected during or after work, shut down the machine first, apply for maintenance, and hang a maintenance warning sign. Do not perform maintenance during operation, and do not operate the machine with faults.
8.Turn off the power switch of the laminating machine and clean the work area. Store materials in an orderly manner and ensure safety passages are clear.
